1. What are some modern day examples of how we could fall into syncretism (mixing Christianity with the world)?

2. Consider the truth of Psalm 115:8, that we become like what we worship. What are you most tempted to worship besides God? How do you see yourself looking like that thing or person? 

3. Why do we shift blame when we’re caught? What should we do instead? 

4. Read these texts: Romans 8:26-27; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1 (compare with Rev. 12:10); Hebrews 7:25

   • What’s happening in these texts and how does it encourage you? 

   • Consider this quote by the Puritan William Bridge: “He spends all his eternity for you.” What do you think he means by this? 

   • What percentage of your prayer life would you say is spent interceding for others?
