Main idea: God sets us free so that we can draw near to him.

In this chapter, we see a pattern for drawing near to God that sets the tone for the rest of the Bible regarding how sinful people are brought back into fellowship with the Lord —

  • Sacrifice (v. 3-6)

  • Sanctification (v. 7-8)

  • Fellowship (v.9-11)

Reflection Questions

  • Reread Hebrews 1:1, Hebrews 9:13-24, Hebrews 10:5-10, and Hebrews 4:14-16. How do these connect to Exodus 24?

  • What needed to happen for these Israelites to draw near to God? How are we able to draw near to God today?
