Exodus 19: One Fearful Mountain

 Sermon Overview

A covenant is a loving relationship with binding promises, often accompanied by signs and ceremonies.

  • Up and Down 1: The Purpose of the Covenant (19:1-7)

  • Up and Down 1: The Purpose of the Covenant (19:1-7)

  • Up and Down 3: the God of the Covenant (19:19-25)

Reflection

  •  Did following the law that God gave on Mount Sinai provide salvation? If not, what was the purpose of the law? (see Galatians 3:17-19)

  • According to Hebrews 12, what’s the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant? How should we relate to God now?

  • What is one specific way that you can “proclaim Christ’s excellencies” this week? (someone to share the gospel with, someone to disciple, a friend to encourage, etc)
