No Longer Strangers in downtown Dayton assists a large refugee community residing in the Dayton area. They are from war-torn countries in eastern and central Africa such as Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt, and Congo and were resettled in Dayton from various refugee camps. The purpose of the ministry is to offer genuine Christian friendship to the refugee community as they learn to live in a new country. The ministry needs volunteers to help tutor elementary through high school age refugees and hopes to re-instate an English as a Second Language ministry.
